"Orbis stands out as a trusted partner, delivering high-quality, lifelike renderings that help us visualize and present our projects — a key part of strengthening our sales and presentations."
Interviewer: Juan Luque, Orbis Design Group Participant: Ignacio Álvarez, Vice President of Development, Interlink Puerto Rico
Juan Luque: Ignacio, could you introduce yourself and Interlink?
Ignacio Álvarez: I'm Vice President of the Development Department at Interlink Group. We've operated in Puerto Rico for over 45 years, focused largely on hospitality and, more recently, returning to residential development. We're vertically integrated — handling development, general contracting, and property management — which lets us streamline projects and deliver better value to investors and clients.
Juan Luque: What sets Interlink apart?
Ignacio Álvarez: That vertical integration. Handling everything from development to construction to asset management lets us move quickly, run the numbers, find ways to maximize returns, and build the product ourselves. It's a real edge in Puerto Rico's market.
Juan Luque: What was your approach to visualization before working with us?
Ignacio Álvarez: A mix of local and U.S.-based rendering companies. The process was hands-on, and we often found ourselves nitpicking details, relying heavily on the designers to bring the vision to life — and it wasn't always easy to communicate exactly what we wanted.
Juan Luque: What drew you to us?
Ignacio Álvarez: We found Orbis through social media. We wanted something different, and your renderings stood out as unique. After seeing your work on other projects, we felt you could bring something fresh — and it's been a great decision.
Juan Luque: What's improved in your presentations since?
Ignacio Álvarez: The quality, and especially the level of detail. You bring images to life in a way that feels authentic — incorporating real surroundings, whether a lagoon or a sunset. It helps clients visualize not just the building, but the whole environment they'll be in. It's been a big step forward.
Juan Luque: Has the investment been worth it?
Ignacio Álvarez: While we haven't formally quantified the return, the impact on selling is clear. Renderings let buyers picture where they'll live, what their view will be, how the space will feel. It's made the sales process much smoother — well worth it.
Juan Luque: Would you recommend us, and for what kind of work?
Ignacio Álvarez: Absolutely — especially residential. The way you highlight what's unique about a property, and show buyers why to choose a particular home, is impressive. Your attention to detail makes you a great fit for any developer in the residential space.
Juan Luque: Your number one piece of advice for others in Caribbean development?
Ignacio Álvarez: Patience. We all wish things moved faster, but take the time to analyze the market and identify your site's competitive advantage. Be concise and analytical so your project succeeds.
Juan Luque: Thank you, Ignacio.
Ignacio Álvarez: Thank you, Juan — I appreciate your time.
