SCALA is a signature selection of nine luxury residences that reimagines modern coastal living. Located just steps from the ocean, Scala offers a rare balance of design elegance, privacy, and convenience within one of San Juan’s most desirable residential neighborhoods.
Each residence is designed to maximize natural light and ocean views, creating homes that feel open, serene, and deeply connected to their surroundings.
Minimalist white architecture, expansive volumes, and refined materials create a lifestyle of quiet sophistication and ease.

We began with the name. Scala — Italian for "a step above" — became the organizing idea for everything that followed: the challenge was to translate the feeling of elevated, effortless coastal living into an identity you could see, read, and eventually walk through.
Every decision traces back to that idea. We paired a confident Artifex serif with the clean neutrality of DM Sans to strike the balance the residences themselves aim for — refined, but never cold. The palette is pulled straight from the setting: cream and soft taupe, a deep marine blue, and sunset gradients of gold and terracotta — the light of Punta Las Marías captured as color. The stepped isotype turns the name's meaning into a single, ownable mark.
Then we extended the brand into architectural 3D visualization. With the residences still to be built, the renderings had to do the selling — so we art-directed them to carry the exact tone of the identity: minimalist white volumes, natural light, and ocean-open serenity. The result is one continuous story, where the brand a buyer sees and the home they imagine are the same thing.

Because we built the Scala brand first, we had a storyline to design from — not just a mood to chase. The identity became the brief for the interiors, so every detail traces back to the same idea of elevated, effortless coastal living.
We shaped a warm minimalist language of natural materials — walnut, travertine, oak, and marble — softened with bouclé and layered with the brand's burgundy, terracotta, and ochre accents. Light leads every room: open volumes and floor-to-ceiling glass pull the Punta Las Marías sun inside, while sliding walls dissolve the line between interior and ocean.
The payoff is felt, not explained. When a resident steps into their new home for the first time, everything already feels familiar — the colors, the calm, the light. They aren't discovering Scala; they're finally living inside the brand they fell for.
